The business
From selling on eBay to building a business of his own
Comm Coinage supplies commemorative coins and collectables to customers in Australia and overseas. Ron started by selling on eBay, but wanted to grow the business beyond marketplace listings.
He needed a website where customers could explore the range and buy directly from Comm Coinage. He also needed the systems and support behind it to manage products, orders and dispatch as the business grew.
Digital Guppy helped build that next stage: a complete Neto website, connected business tools, mentoring and practical technical support.
The challenge
Growing the business meant joining up the work behind it
High eBay fees were another reason Ron wanted to grow beyond the marketplace. His own website would give customers a way to buy directly from Comm Coinage and reduce the business’s reliance on eBay for sales.
A website would give Comm Coinage its own online shop, but taking orders was only part of the job. Stock, accounting and shipping also needed to work together.
Double handling of order and accounting information was contributing to incorrect stock levels and slower order processing. As the business grew, repeating that work would make it harder to keep up.
Ron needed more than a website handover. He needed help making decisions, putting the right tools in place and dealing with the technical side of running an online retail business.
Our approach
Build the store and the support around it
We built Comm Coinage’s website in Neto and helped connect the day-to-day work around it. Our involvement extended beyond the storefront to shipping, accounting, technical infrastructure and business mentoring.
- 01
Build a dedicated Neto website
We created a complete eCommerce website for Comm Coinage, giving Ron a place to grow his business beyond eBay. The store brought the product range together under the Comm Coinage brand, with a direct path from browsing to placing an order.
Neto provided the platform for managing the catalogue and orders alongside the website.
- 02
Connect shipping with Starshipit
We set up Starshipit as part of the shipping workflow, connecting order fulfilment with the online store. The aim was to make dispatch easier to manage and reduce the manual hand-offs between receiving an order and getting it out to the customer.
- 03
Connect online sales, POS and trade shows
Neto brought online sales and point of sale (POS) together, simplifying how Ron managed sales across the website and in person. With stock kept in sync, he could take Comm Coinage to trade shows and sell there while the online store continued trading.
Accounting automation and other integrations supported the work behind those sales, reducing double handling and bringing stock, orders and accounts into a more connected workflow.
- 04
Keep improving with a Growth Plan
The relationship continued beyond the website build through a Growth Plan, bringing ongoing improvements, business mentoring and technical support together as Comm Coinage grew.
We helped Ron work through ideas, decide what needed attention and turn those priorities into practical next steps. The focus was on what would help the business at that stage, with support that could adapt as its needs changed.
- 05
Support the technology behind the business
Our technical support extended beyond the website, including infrastructure in the warehouse. We helped with the technology the business relied on and provided support as its needs developed.
This gave Ron an ongoing point of support for the website and connected systems, rather than leaving him to work through technical issues on his own.

The results
An online store, with the foundations to grow
Comm Coinage grew from $80,000 to $250,000 in annual revenue. The Neto website, connected systems and ongoing support helped Ron build the business beyond eBay.
Comm Coinage grew from selling on eBay to having its own Neto website, with online sales and POS working together. Ron could attend trade shows and sell in person while keeping stock synced with the online store.
Connected shipping and accounting workflows supported the work behind each sale, giving Ron a simpler way to manage orders across the business.
The website helped support that growth, while the Growth Plan kept the relationship moving beyond launch. Ongoing improvements, mentoring and technical support gave Ron someone to work through decisions with and help build up the business around the store.
The result was a stronger foundation for Comm Coinage: its own online shop, systems that worked together and someone to help with the next step.
